Lots of Catching Up!

It's been about 3 weeks since my last blog, it's 10 pm and I really should be sleeping since Carver will be awake in another 2 hours for one of his night feeds. But...there's been some exciting activities since my last post!

First, there was Fathers Day on the 17th. Happy Belated Fathers Day to all the great fathers out there! Kyle and I have the best fathers ever!! Woody and Ro we love you! This photo was taken at our wedding rehearsal dinner last year. Peace!
We celebrated Kyle's 1st of many Fathers Days! He is a fantastic father to Carver and Cappy. I couldn't have found a better man to procreate with! Kyle is never tired of playing, admiring and loving his son, and there isn't a day that goes by without Kyle saying "How did we get so lucky?"

The day before Fathers Day, Saturday the 16th, I was lucky enough to photograph the beautiful wedding of Shripal and Jenny-Brooke, at The Willows. Shripal is an old friend of Kyle's from high school. We had a great time and were able to bring Carver along as well!! Jenny-Brooke was a gorgeous glowing Bride, she was so pleasant and easy-going too! That's always a plus! Their ceremony combined traditions from the Catholic and Hindu religions.
For example guests offered each other the sign of peace, which is when everyone shakes hands and says "Peace be with You", and guests witnessed JB and Shripal perform the most important custom of a Hindu marriage ceremony, the "Saptapadi" or the "Seven Steps". It was explained in their wedding program... Holding hands, the bride and groom circle around a sacred fire seven times. Every step is taken invoking God's blessings for the couple. The sacred fire symbolizes the illumination of the mind, knowledge and happiness. Each circling around the sacred fire had a different meaning. Congratulations, we wish you all the best!!

Carver's 11 weeks old and he is already teething! He's been drooling a lot more lately, a little extra fussy and he ALWAYS has his hands in his mouth. My parents insisted that he was teething, but I didn't believe them. Well, today I took a peek at his gums, and sure enough Carver's working on his first bottom baby tooth! It's just a tiny white speck on his lower gums now. I wonder how long before it really starts to show?

Three years ago my father gave me a leaf from his Night-Blooming Cirrus plant. I think my plant has it's days and nights confused, because it bloomed during the day! It's a beautiful flower on a rather strange and wild looking plant.

Carver spoke and interacted with Cappy for the first time! Carver loves his little play gym that his Aunt MaryPat got for him. I always sit next to him while he plays and point out the little toys that hang from the bars above his head, Cappy usually plops right next to me so he can be a part of the action too. This time Carver acknowledged Cappy and had a few words to say! Cappy carefully approached Carver's little face and listened to what he had to say. I bet he was discussing how he and Cappy would run around the house laughing and playing with each other next year! Personally, I can't wait for those days! Just you wait Cappy, you're going to have another best friend for life!
